Inner Narrative is a showcase of my artwork alongside crochet artist Lauren Sieffert. Join us for an artist reception on first Thursday. There will even be an interactive video of me talking about my art!

World of Women

I will be showing several fine art Giclee prints on canvas at the Doll Gardner Gallery in a group show celebrating women and the feminine.

For over 25 years, the Doll Gardner Gallery in SW Portland has exhibited work of a wide range of artists, from the celebrated to the emerging. The gallery is located in the sanctuary of West Hills Unitarian in a beautiful forested setting on S.W. Oleson Road. They believe that art serves to enrich their congregation and the community and their art openings bring all together to celebrate the artist and their work.

Hello Portlandia!

Shot entirely on location in my beloved Portland, Oregon, Portlandia is a television series airing on IFC on Fridays. I was part of a team of artists and non-artists to create art for a Portlandia skit. The assignment was to create “bad” art that the show’s stars, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein could poke fun at. We were not sure until the episode aired if our art would even be shown. I was thrilled to see that my red haired girl made the cut. I’ve never been more excited to have my art called “bad”! You can view the skit on YouTube here.

The Love Show
Launchpad’s annual Love Show brings together a wonderful variety of love-themed art by local artists each year. This year they have scaled down to fit their gallery space, but it will not be any less impressive. The theme this year is “Hindsight is 20/20. Love in retrospect.” Since many of my images are inspired by retro images and often incude couples or people and their relationship to each other, it was easy to create within this theme.

The Pink Show
Splendorporium’s annual Pink Show celebrates pink, red, hearts and love. Their opening receptions are wonderfully over-the-top, and this one is no exception. The pink Voodoo Donut truck will offer tasty treats while Rojo the therapy llama will share the love.

100 Artists: Art of Communication

I had fun creating artwork for this show. Last August the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery invited 100 artists to participate in the Art of Communication show. Artists partnered with artists, each sent a letter to the other. Most of these people didn’t know each other. When the artists received their letter, they were then asked to create a piece that responded to what their partnered artist wrote.

All pieces will be available through a silent bidding throughout the month. www.zeekgallery.com

People of Peoples Gallery Show

Since opening in November 2010, Peoples Art of Portland Gallery has shown over 1000 local and national artists. I enjoyed my time volunteering there on Sundays until a few months ago. The Gallery itself was a vacant toy store when the Peoples crew took over, using the remaining architectural structure as a backdrop for art instead of toys. Being inside of an actual mall, this gallery is a welcome place amongst high-end retailers and consistent retail fare. The gallery has always operated as a place for artists, run by artists, volunteers and a curatorial team of artists.

For their 15th consecutive exhibition, they wanted to celebrate this notion, in essence to celebrate the volunteer artists and staff that make the gallery what it is. This show exemplifies their connection to the community and how the gallery works: artists showing artists, working together.

The People of Peoples Gallery show consists of art work from the following artists: Ali Schlicting, Anna Magruder, Brin Levinson, Chris Haberman, Chuck Blooom, Dan Pillers, Heidi Elise Wirz, Jen Berry, Jesse Reno, Joel Barber, Kendra Binney, Kyle Gossman, Larry Christensen, Matt Schlosky, Melissa Dow, Sam Arneson, Roger, Wellie Glenn

I will be showing work from this past year as well as 2 brand new ones!

Big 200 Photos

The Big 200 event was fantastic! I arrived early, along with a slew of other folks, and am very pleased with my art purchases. I can’t wait to hang the beautiful new art in my home.

I promised I would upload the pieces I did for the show, so here they are! I focused on children as my theme this year. Many of these I worked on during this year’s Portland Open Studios event. So if you stopped by in October you may recognize a few of these…

Simon Mace Gallery

I am pleased to be a participant in a brand new gallery in Port Townsend, Washington. Simon Mace Gallery‘s grand opening is Dec. 3: “A Tasting Menu” is the first of many shows to come and is a group show of some of the art and artists that will be seen here. Artwork is on display December 3-January 2.

Net proceeds from this show benefit the Max and Sherry Grover Fund for Artists (a fund of Jefferson County Community Foundation).
