Folk Tales – First Friday Show

FolkTales Image

Folk Tales   Folk tales are one of the oldest art forms in the shared history of our human family. They are stories passed down through generations by word-of-mouth, songs played by the campfire, or simple images shared on a cave wall. They can sometimes be dark and scary, or lighthearted and fanciful. But they all share the common purpose of serving as a communal vehicle for people to understand the world and their place in it.

This exhibit showcases the stories that Portland artists Leslie Peterson, Jaclyn Evalds and I want to share with you. Through the mediums of oil and acrylic paint, we invite you to witness the tale of a winged child, relive a forgotten memory from a faded photograph, and become immersed in whimsical landscapes with curious women. Let us tell you a story.

Opening reception:
Friday, June 6; 6-8pm.
Albina Press, 5012 SE Hawthorne Blvd
Meet the artists and enjoy wine and light snacks.
